Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD)
The purpose of the LTAD is to create a pathway for target shooters who want to compete at a high level and get to the Olympics, Pan-Am games, Commonwealth games and World cups. We also realize that not everyone who enters the sport wants to compete at these high levels but at lower levels. They may also follow the path and stop when they reach the level they want. A shooter may stop competing at any time and enter the active for life path. The pinnacle of any sport seems to be the Olympics. Not all disciplines in shooting arrive at the Olympics. Those that don’t will also take the same pathway to reach the highest level in their discipline.
The Coaching Association of Canada has developed an LTAD for parents which can be viewed here.
The Shooting Federation of Canada (SFC) has developed an LTAD for the shooting sports in Canada which may be viewed here.
The shooting Federation of Nova Scotia (SFNS) has also developed an LTAD which is available below.
